Many Santa Clara County residents confuse termites with other winged insects, such as flying ants. However, termites have a few differentiating features like straight antennae, equal-length wings, and a uniform waist. Do a little research online for what type of termites are common in California, and check out the images so you know what to look for.
You’re more likely to see the signs of termites than the pests themselves. (However, if you do see them, you can assume you may have termite issues.) If you don’t see them, look for mud tubes found on the home’s exterior, as well as on the supports, floor joists, and so on. These tubes are often a sign that termites have taken residence.
Don’t take a chance on overlooking a termite infestation! If you’re purchasing a home, you definitely want to know before you buy. To know for certain whether a residential property has termites, schedule a termite inspection in addition to your regular home inspection. These experts know where to look and can recommend possible remediation.
To ask about termites or to schedule a termite inspection, contact Wall 2 Wall at (408) 905-9255, or schedule online. We’ll be glad to do a termite inspection a la carte or in addition to your home inspection. Either way, we’ll help you tackle termites head on.
